Choose fields that answer the question
Listing ID, public price, broad area, property type and observation time are often more useful than an entire page archive. Avoid collecting private contact details or unnecessary personal information. Verify permission to reuse the source.
Handle listing changes deliberately
A removed page is not proof of a completed sale. Store unavailable, redirected and changed listings as distinct outcomes. Deduplicate syndicated listings without silently merging different properties or units.
Use location only where relevant
Datacenter may be sufficient for permitted public pages. A confirmed Residential location can help when a source presents regional content. Proxy geography does not verify the geographic accuracy of an address in the listing.
Control collection and attribution
Honor access limits and cache permitted responses. Preserve original source URL and timestamps alongside normalized values. Review licensing, attribution and retention before publishing a derived dataset or feeding it into another product.
