What is a proxy?

A practical guide to the connection between your application and an authorized destination.

Documentation reviewed 5 October 2026

The request path

Your application sends a request through an intermediary endpoint. The destination normally sees the proxy network’s exit address rather than your application’s direct egress. The proxy does not automatically render JavaScript, extract structured data, change browser settings or grant access rights.

Control plane and traffic path

CloudCity manages the account, service eligibility and connection details. Your application uses the endpoint supplied by the allocated service. Billing lives in my.cloudcity.ro and service operations in proxy.cloudcity.ro. Do not assume a distinct CloudCity relay exists just because the account is managed by CloudCity.

Choose by the actual requirement

Datacenter is a hosting-network context; ISP is an allocated ISP-address context; Residential uses residential connectivity; Mobile uses mobile-network connectivity. Shared or dedicated allocation, rotation, session continuity and protocol support are additional dimensions that require confirmation.

A responsible starting point

Use one active service and one authorized HTTPS URL. Keep TLS verification on, secrets out of source and retries bounded. Review the response and usage before scaling. The best product is the smallest confirmed configuration that answers your actual question.

The session supports navigation and a security token protects forms; these expire after 2 hours. When you choose a language, cc_locale remembers it for 365 days. You can change the language anytime in the menu or footer.

Your notice preference

Your preference stores the version, time and selected purposes for 180 days, only on this host and in this browser. It contains no name or email address. You can withdraw permission at any time in this panel.

The customer account on my.cloudcity.ro separately uses cookies needed for sign-in and orders. Full details are in the policy. You can reopen this panel anytime using “Cookie settings” in the footer.
