Keep ranking and visits separate
Record query, engine, country, language, device and observation time. These inputs change search results independently. Use an authorized search API or permitted export for ranking data; a generic proxy connection does not include a CloudCity SERP API.
Build a comparable observation
Store the expected domain, result URL, result type and position returned by the source. Distinguish organic results from ads metadata. Keep a missing result distinct from a failed request. Compare the same parameters over time rather than mixing personalized screenshots.
Validate the destination independently
On an owned or authorized landing page, test HTTP status, canonical, hreflang, title and content assertions. A residential context can help investigate a regional difference only if the service confirms that location. Separate network geography from browser language and device viewport.
Avoid synthetic engagement
Do not simulate public search clicks, ad clicks or organic visits. Mark authorized test sessions synthetic and exclude them from analytics. Current portal HTTP tests are not proof that a browser journey or public ranking API is available.
